Tyres have a shelf life of 8-10 years given that they are kept away in godowns, and in India almost every car showroom has a godown where they keep their tyres. If you want to buy tyres and are willing to buy them based on their manufacturing dates, you can buy tyres which are at least 3-4 years older than the current year. For example, if you want to buy a tyre in 2023, you are good to buy a tyre manufactured in 2019 or 2020. Many people have gathered some wrong information online that you should only buy tyres that are fresh, but that is false. Tyre companies don’t manufacture tyres that way, they manufacture a particular tyre size for a limited period of time say 4 months, then they would stop manufacturing the tyre for at least another 4-5 months so it is not possible for every person to get the latest manufactured tyre. In conclusion, It is okay to buy tyres that are 3-4 years old.
